This is dating as it’s rarely been seen on TV before: with religion in play there are a whole new set of rules, and it can be seriously tough to find the perfect fit.

In Strictly Soulmates we get a fun, entertaining and emotional window into the dating worlds we rarely get to glimpse at. Over the next month we follow young religious singletons from four religions: Hindu, Muslim, Evangelical Christian and Jewish on their quest for love.

Battlefront II has just been nominated for the prestigious 'Best Multiplatform Project' in the annual Digital Broadcast Awards. We are up against some stiff competition from the likes of X Factor, Hugh's Fish Fight, and Misfits Series 2 - what good company we must be keeping at the moment!

Battlefront wins Emmy

We're delighted to announce that Battlefront II, which follows 11 young people running campaigns to change the world, was awarded the Digital Emmy in the Children and Young People category last night (4th April) in a ceremony in Cannes. Lucy Willis, Head of UK Factual and Multi Platform, who collected the award in Cannes said "This is a massive tribute to the hard work, and unwavering enthusiasm of the Battlefront production team, and to the young Battlefront campaigners whose passion and commitment is a real inspiration".

Gold Rush Season 2

Raw TV's record-breaking documentary series Gold Rush: Alaska has been re-commissioned by Discovery Channel US for a second season after delivering the highest ratings of any premiere season in the history of Discovery channel.

In season one, Gold Rush: Alaska followed father and son team, Jack and Todd Hoffman, as they made a desperate attempt to fight the recession and strike it rich on a gold claim in Alaska. Together with a band of unemployed mining rookies, Jack and Todd spent a season fighting breakdowns, tragedies and the Alaskan wilderness in a desperate hunt for gold - and a more secure future for their families.

From the broadcast of episode one at the beginning of Dec 2010 it was clear Gold Rush: Alaska was hitting ratings gold when it became the highest rating premier show on Discovery Channel since Deadliest Catch in 2005. The audience continued to grow and by mid-season Gold Rush: Alaska regularly took the #1 men’s slot on Friday night in all of television in the US. By the season finale in mid Feb 2011, Gold Rush: Alaska achieved the highest audience for a premier season in the history of Discovery Channel.

Discovery President and GM Clark Bunting said, “This group of everyday men have harnessed their hopes and dreams and combined it with ferocity of spirit in an attempt to rekindle the American Dream for their families,” Bunting said, “Gold Rush: Alaska reflects what many Americans are feeling right now, and it’s clearly struck a chord with our audience. Executive Producer and Managing Director of Raw TV Dimitri Doganis said, "We're delighted that we are going to keep the adventure going for another season, it's a tribute to the hard work of our crew and miners that the show's been such a success".

Despite digging deeper than ever before at Porcupine in Alaska, last season the miners were ultimately defeated by the Alaskan winter. They left Alaska with little gold to show for their season of struggle but they had bonded as a team and learned to be gold miners. Undaunted, Jack and Todd have spent the winter seeking further investment, bigger equipment and recruiting crew for another sojourn north.

Jack still has his sights set on the gold he is convinced lies at the bottom of the glory hole in Porcupine Creek Alaska, whereas Todd wants to head north to the Yukon and the richer gold mines of the Klondike. For Todd and his crew it’s a final throw of the dice: “ Last season was grade school, this time we are in college and we have to strike gold, there is no option, our future depend on this, it’s double or nothing”.

By any measure, making an observational documentary series from such remote locations will be a challenging production, but we are looking forward to getting the start of the new mining season in late April and to producing more ground breaking TV that does justice to the unfolding of this epic tale of our time.
