Times columnist and restaurant critic Giles Coren puts his views to the test regarding a tax on fat as he develops a workable fiscal formula to help recoup the money he calculates fat people cost the public every year. Along the way he creates a fat tax ad campaign; debunks a number of myths about how people become overweight and demands to know why fat people don’t get charged for their excess weight at airports. He encounters both outright hostility and active encouragement.
